you cannot join the indian army on the basis of your civil services score card or result.
For getting into the indian army, you have to give the different exams conducted by the upsc.
NDA is the exam which is conducted for joining the indian army after the completion of your school education. The maximum age to give this exam is 19 years.
CDS is another exam which is also taken by the upsc and for giving this exam, you should be a graduate and the maximum age to give this exam is 24 years

As you know UPSC conducts many civil services exam including CDS as well as NDA exam.

CDS exam is the best exam to join defence services like Army after graduation degree.

You can join Army through NDA exam after 12th standard.

You have tell your education qualification also.

to apply for nda you should satisfy the following conditions
1.you must be a citizen of india
2.you must have passed your 12 th
3.you must be between 16.5 to 19yrs
to apply for cds you should satisfy the following conditions
1.you must be a citizen of india
2.you must havecompleted your graduation
3.you must be between 19 to 24yrs

Dear UPSC board conduct special examination for Indian Army recruitment and you can not get job in Indian army through civil service examination because civil service examination is conducted for the post of IFS - Indian Foreign Service, Indian Administrative Service, Indian Revenue Service etc. so that you should not apply for this examination if you want to get job in Indian Army Sector and you should follow these exams

1. UPSC NDA - National Defense Academy Examination

Indian Military Academy - Candidate should have passed in class 12th in any discipline from a recognized board and age should not be less than 16.5 years and more than 19 years and you may apply for this examination between 04-05-2013 to 03-06-2013 and can appear for NDA examination at - 11-08-2013

2. UPSC CDS - Combined Defense Service Examination

Indian Military Academy - Candidate should posses a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university and if you are pursuing final year then also you can apply for this examination but your age should not be less than 19 years and more than 24 years for this examination and dates are following for this examination

Start date for online application - 25-05-2013

Last date for online application - 24-06-2013

Date for UPSC CDS Examination - 08-09-2013

So that dear you can see, you may apply for CDS Examination and you should start your preparation for this exam and there will be following three subjects asked in examination under IMA section

English Language - 100 marks
General Knowledge - 100 marks
Elementary Mathematics - 100 marks

Qualifying in each is not compulsory but you must have scored minimum qualifying marks including all 3 subjects which will be decided by UPSC board during selection process and for more details and information you should keep visiting at www.upsc.gov.in
