I am akshata I want to know how i can start preparation from 9th class to become an ias officer?I am topper in class but my general knowlege is average.I read general knowlege book but i can't remember that after few hours .I want to make my general knowlege strong.

UPSC is based on general studies instead of general knowledge. So you have to study each area in deep and come out with your opinion in it.
As of now you are in 9th class so i will advise you keep more focus on news papers and try to understand concept of each article and relation of it to other article and govt. perspective for the same.
in else, i will tell you to keep up-dated with NCERT books and their syllabus which is important in upsc exam.
NCERT book you can download from upscportal website.

if you want to start preparation for ias from 9 th class than i would like to say that for ias you should be graduate and no percentage required for it .
and for it you choose two optional sub. for ias which is interesting in your knowledge .
and for improved in gk you have to watch news channel , reading news paper , watch discovery channel and many more like histry , animal planet , reading books and many more .
