How many times can we take IFS exam? Can I attempt it while studying third year Chemical engineering?
Sir,I want know how many times we can take the IFS examination and i am in chemical engineering 3rd year and i want to take the IFS examination ,so i want to known whether i am eligible to take the examination this year ?

dear aspirant,
No, you can't apply for IFS exam this year. You can only apply for IFS exam in your Final year of Engineering(4th year) or after completing Engineering. So till then keep preparing for the IFS exam.
Eligibility Criteria for IFS Exam:
>>you must hold a Bachelor�s degree with at least one of the subjects Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology,Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor�s degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering from recognized college or university.
>>your age must be within 21 years to 30 years. there is relaxation in upper age limit up to 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
Important dates related to IFS exam in 2013:
For IFS(Prelims)-2013
Date of notification:05/03/2013
Last date of receipt of application:04/04/2013
Date of exam :26/05/2013
For IFS(Mains)-2013
Date of main exam:03/10/2013.

You are not eligible for IFS exam .
IFS stand for - Indian Forsest Service
IFS Eligibility Criteria like ::

*** The candidates must be citizen of Indian
*** The candidates must be complete graduation degree in any recognized university
*** The Final year candidates apply for this exam
*** Your age limit between 21 to 30 years
*** Age relaxation was Govt. rules.
Number of Attempts like ::
====================
*** For General candidates 4 times
*** For OBC candidates 7 times
*** For SC / ST candidates No limit.

>> You can not Give UPSC Exam, Because in UPSC Exam minimum education qualification is Graduation in any field from Recognized University.
>> You have not Completed the Graduation.
>> Final Year Candidate can also apply for UPSC Exam, but candidate should verify before mains exam if he/she Clears prelims exam.
>> Age limit is:
> >> General Category Candidate 21-30 years
>> OBC Candidate 21-33 years
>> SC/ST Candidate 21-35 years
>> You can give Following times Attempt according to Category:
General Category = 4 Attempts
OBC= 7 Attempts
PH = 7 Attempts
SC/ST= No Limits

If you are applying for Indian Forests Service Examinationare required to appear in the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination andqualify the same for going to the second stage of Indian Forests Services MainExamination ( written and interview).
AgeLimits:
Acandidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained theage of 30 years.
Theupper age limit prescribed above will be relaxable in the follwing cases:
ScheduledCaste or a Scheduled Tribe: upto a maximum of five years.
OtherBackward Classes: upto a maximum of three years.
EducationalQualifications:
Thecandidate must hold a Bachelor�s degree with at least one of the followingsubjects:
AnimalHusbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics,Physics, Statistics and Zoology, Agriculture, Forestry, AgricultureEngineering, Forestry Engineering.
