It's good to see that you want to prepare for IAS exam by Selfstudy...
I provide you some inportant points for selfatudy...
There are two IAS pre Papers and you have to clear from both of these means you have to clear cut off of each exam and cut off must be different for.each..
The two papers of pre exam are....
-GS Paper 1
-CSAT paper 1
For GS prepration you must read all Books of NCRT from 6-10(math,ss,science) and you must read constitution book of Dr. D.D.Vasu
in spite of these if you read Union's GS preparation Book then it is enough for clearing the GS exam.
For CSAT you must read RS Aggarwal's Reasoning books and you can also read any speacial book for CSAT preparation...

Yes, why not. of course it is possible for you to appear the IAS exam on your own preparation.
IAS stands for Indian Administrative service.The IAS exam conducted by UPSC once in a year.
Graduation in any stream is the minimum qualification required to apply for the exam.
The age criteria is minimum 21 year & maximum 30 year to apply for the exam.
Upper age limit is relaxed for certain reserved categories.
For applying IAS exam the candidate should be a citizen of India.
The IAS exam is a part of civil services exam.It is a very competitive exam.Depending on your preferences & the Rank you secure ,you will be allotted the IAS.
For civil service exam every time millions of students can apply & try their luck but very few of them can beat the exam.If you want to qualifying the exam you must have to work & learn these points.

Well friend ias exam is a very long process exam,to clear this exam sufficient amount of time and well managed preparation is required.
You can prepare for the exam by own,if you go through these simple steps.
<>first of all you should start preparing just 1 year before the prelims.
<>after that go through the whole syallabus,get the clear idea of exam pattern and collect the study materia as per that.
<>now you should prepare and divide your time properly for optionals and gs.
<>always go through the previous years question papers to know the questions standard and type.
