    How can I become an IAS officer?

    I am studying B-tech 1st year. My aim is to become an IAS officer. But I don't know what I have to do. Could you please help me in achieve my goal. Could you please tell me which books I have to prepare, which exams I have to write, how many hours I have to prepare, and the best institutes which give coaching for IAS...

    You have enough time for study.

    To become IAS office you must have graduation degree from govt. recognized university of INDIA.

    Indian citizenship is also compulsory. Your age should be in between 21-30 years for open category.


    UPSC notification comes every year on their website.

    You have to Clear 3 stages for IAS. Prelims, mains and Interview.

    Material you have to buy from market. Few of preparation material is available on UPSCportal also.


    Books list is given on UPSCportal website as well. as per your area of interest you can make choice.


    coaching is to guide you for UPSC exam. its not assurance that coaching make you crack IAS.

    You can become IAS officer after graduation degree.

    Appearing in final year candidates are also Eligible.

    Your age should be between 21-30 years.

    Age relaxation;-

    3 years for OBC, 5 years for SC/ST candidates

    There is no percentage requirement.

    IAS exam consist;-

    Civil services Preliminary exam

    Civil services Mains exam


    Preliminary exam consist;-

    General studies I-200 marks-2 hours duration

    General studies II-200 marks-2 hours duration

    Preliminary exam consist objective type papers with negative marking.

    You have to clear Preliminary exam to enter in Mains exam.

    Mains exam consist Essay, English, General studies and Your choosing optional subjects.

    You have to manage your study time table according to preparation.

    You have to give 2-5 hours for IAS preparation.

    For becoming an IAS officer, you need to fulfill the certain criteria.
    Your age should be in between 21-30 years and you should be a graduate from a recognized indian university in any stream.
    If you fulfill these requirements, then you can apply for the IAS exam. The pattern of the IAS Exam is such that it has three phases
    First, the prilims which is of objective type
    The second stage is the mains, which is of conventional type
    And the final step is the interview. If you clear the interview, then you will be able to become an IAS.

    IAS stands for the Indian Administrative Service exam.

    This exam is conducted by the Union Public Service commission for the recruitment of candidates for the post of IAS, IPS or IRS.

    This exam is considered as the toughest exam of India and very hard to crack.

    Qualification conditions

    You should be graduated from recognized university or its equivalent.

    You can also apply in final year of graduation.

    Age should be 21 to 30 years.

    Age relaxation
    SC/ST + 5 years

    OBC + 3 years

    PH + 10 years

    You must be the citizen of India.

    Graduation from recognized university and age 21-30 yrs.
    Then you can apply for the civil services exam at www.upsconline.nic.in after notification and you have to prepare well for the exam and for more details visit www.upsc.gov.in

    Here is Info about Prelims exam.

    CSAT Exam Contains Two Papers, Each of 200 Marks.

    And all Question are of Objective type.

    Paper-I General Studies and Current Affairs

    Paper-II General Aptitude

    For General Category Combined score of Both Paper is must be 50% to get Select for Mains Exam.

    >> CSAT Exam in Taken to Select Candidates for Mains Exam.

    >> You can give Following times Attempt according to Category:

    General Category: 4 Attempts

    OBC: 7 Attempts

    PH: 7 Attempts

    SC/ST: No Limits

    Age Limit for UPSC exam is 21-30 years for General Category Candidates.

    The acronym for IAS is Indian administrative Services.

    First of all, I would like to tell you that IAS examination is a civil services examination, which is conducted by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) every year.

    Now, you are in first year of graduation, so, now, you are not eligible for IAS examination.

    First of all, you complete your graduation, then apply for IAS examination.

    The eligibility criteria required for the IAS examination are prescribed as below:-

    IAS stands for Indian Administrative Services .

    The minimum educational qualifications required is bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university.The Candidate age should be in between 21 years to 30 years . Age Relaxation for OBC candidate is 3 years and for SC/ST candidate is 5 years.The maximum no of attempts for Sc/ST candidate is Unlimited. For OBC candidate it is 7 years and for general candidate it will be 5 years.

    IAS stands for Indian Administrative officer . UPSC conduct the IAS entrance exam once in a year through civil services.<br>
    To Become an IAS officer one can qualifying the entrance exam which is consist of 3 stages :<br>
    1. preliminary Exam<br>
    2.Main Exam<br>
    Eligible candidates are applying for the exam through online/offline.<br>
    1. The candidates must posses a bachelor degree in any stream from a recognized University. The final year students of a degree course is also eligible to apply for the exam.<br>
    2. The candidate must have attained the age of 21 year on 1st August of the year of examination &amp; must not have attained 30 year of age on that date.<br>
