of cource you can creck..cse doesnot matter from where candidates come, it require only suitable candidates for civil services..it may belons to city or villege...first you clearly decide that i want to creck this exame in any how...than you collect all information about this exam and make your own stetegy. do hard work and follow your stretegy.you get success in this exam.

Me or someone else telling you yes, you can crack the exam wont make you pass the examination.

Still, I'd say yes you can very much crack the examination, but.... you have to give in not just 100% but 200% of yourself during the duration of preparation.

A back-ground does not completely effect the outcome of an examination(any exam). You may have some hindrance getting the required material and guidance, but given proper amount of time and dedication from your end you can certainly crack UPSC.

Initially, gather the material that you require for preparation. Internet is a very important and critical source which might take you a long way if you use it properly... take online tests, classes, request for material, all this can really help you build your knowledge base.

Yes, you can apply for civil exam,because it depends on qualification not village or city. More details is given below:

Age Limit:

For General candidate : 21-30 years
For OBC Candidate : 21-33 years
For SC/ST candidate : 21-35 years


Educational Qualification: Candidate must be Graduate from any recognized university.

Numbers of Attempts:

For General Candidate 4 Attempts
For OBC Candidate 7 Attempts
For SC/ST Candidate No Limits

Examination Schedule:


It consists of two stage :
1. Preliminary Examination
2.Main Examination

Preliminary Examination: It will consists of Two papers of objective type and carry a maximum 400 marks.

Main Examination: Main exam consists of Written test and interview.

The main examination comprises of Nine papers.

Paper-I : One of the Indian Language to be selected by the candidate from 22 languages. : Marks 300

Paper-2 : English : Marks 300

Paper-3 : Essay : Marks 200

Paper-4 & 5 : General Study (300 Marks Each) : Marks 600

Paper- 5,6,7,8,9 : Any Two subject to be selected : Marks 1200
(Each having Two Papers & 300 marks for each paper)
