Dear Candidate,
-Being a BHMS graduate,I would recommend you to opt for MEDICAL SCIENCE as your primary optional subject for the Mains of Civil Service Exams.
-Its very important that you know your subject to your strength, and to its detail. So yours studying this subject for a span of 3 years might prove an advantage for you.
-The SECOND OPTIONAL SUBJECT,must be an ARTS subject.Arts subjects Such as the PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION,INDIAN HISTORY AND GEOGRAPHY,are very highly scoring. These also form a Core part in the Preliminary exams, which might hand you with a double-advantage.So its always a bright option to choose one subject from these Three.
