What do you mean by UPSC mains examination , do you mean Civil services Mains examination ??

Well in mine opinion always English is a better option since when someone evaluates your copy and you got standard English then,

It for sure impresses anybody, so English is better if you have a nice grip on English.

BUT,

If you dont have Enough Control on English then it will do opposite to what you want to do,

So, try to appear in that Language on which you have enough command, since it always will create a positive reputation for you.

So, it's again Your choice, Both languages are good at it's own place.

You can appear for UPSC mains in any medium. The suitability depends on your knowledge of the medium.
If you are comfortable to answer questions in hindi then choose the medium as hindi.

it is depend on your graduation or academic study background. which medium you read.

it is also depend on your culture which language is use regularly.

other wise the question paper is published in both language English as well as Hindi.

according to me you select that medium which medium you complete the degree.

it is beneficial for you in the future you got that rhythm.

well generally it doesn't matter that in which you study because the paper is bilingual .
so there there is no any problem in exams about language .


so if you are a Hindi medium student than no problem .

you should get preparation in Hindi medium .
you should not to trying to change your medium Hindi to English according to your coaching center .

but if you want to know my advice about the same than i think that English medium is more preferable because most of famous others write books in English medium so you can easily get the study material
whit you want .

there is some difficulty t get the books of some subjects like physics chemistry ,geography , mathematics in Hindi medium ,so English medium is better option for you only if when you can understand it easily.

unless it is a time wasting for you .

so i advised you to read in the medium which suits you .

in my opinion english medium is suitable...hindi language is a little tough...if u hav been studying in english medium school then u shud prefer english...otherwise u can take hindi...

You can choose Hindi or English medium as per your convenience.

If you have good communication skill, ability to understand English, then you can choose English medium.

You can also choose that in which medium you will give the Interview.

First of all i would like to tell you the writing language is very important as it is the only tool which conveys what you think about an issue to the examiner in the mains exam.so choose a language in which you can expree yourself very well without committing any grammatical mistakes and errors.

Nextly,you can choose hindi if you have studied and used that language in the high school level.otherwise you will not be able to express properly in that language.so choose hindi if you have good command over it.same is the case with english.whichever language you choose you should have good command over it.

Nextly check whether for the optional subjects you have chosen many books are available in the hindi medium if at all you are going to choose hindi medium.

Best way is to take a question and write answers both in hindi and english and see in which language you can answer well.choose that language.This exercise might help you.

UPSC Civil Services exams should be attempted in the language you are comfortable with.

Engish is suitable for you if you have completed your studies in English medium and Hindi

is suitable if you are from Hindi medium.Be very careful to select a language as the medium.

The main objective to choose a medium is you should be able to express your thoughts &

views in the exams without getting misunderstood by anyone/Examiners.So,choose the language in

which you think you can express your views easily.You can impress the examiners with

I am from Mumbai. I am 3d Artist working from in this field from last 6 years. I am not good in Study.Even i am very serious about the study. so now a days i am thinking of applying UPSC, MPSC exams. I have done my B.com graduation in English. But my Education till 10th class is in Marathi.
I read this thread carefully, because i have the same problem about choosing the lang. My English is ok not so fluent as well as Hindi. Because some words are very difficult in Hindi as well as grammer also. I am good in marathi. Could anyone help me about this case. Asper i mention i am far away from study so i have to start from Zero means NCERT Books.
