    To become a ACP you have to apply the IPS exam which is taken by UPSC every year and have to crack it .

    Because without that you will get the post of ACP .

    For the UPSC exam you should fulfill the eligibility criteria as mentioned below :

    => Education qualification .

    minimum graduation from any recognized university .

    => Age criteria :

    21-30 for general cast , 21-33 for obc cast , 21-35 for sc/st cast , 21-40 for physically handicapped .

    => you must be a indian citizen .

    So if you fulfill above criteria then you are eligible for the exam .

    As your age is 30 and if you belong to general cast then you have only one chance left for givig the exam because after that you will not allow for the exam .

    => There are limits on the number of attempts that one can give for the exam like
    4 for general cast

    7 for obc cast

    no limit for sc/st cast

    So if you belong to general cast then this is your last attempt but otherwise you will give the exam more than once .

    ***** Exam Pattern *********

    There are three rounds in the exam .

    1) preliminary exam

    2) Main exam

    3) interview

    First round contain two papers .
    Second round contain 9 papers .

    Final selection will be based on the main exam plus interview together .
