Is it necessary that only extraordinary people have greater chances to become collector? What if someone fails or looses to achieve the desired service (Indian Administrative Service)?

i have heard that it is not simple to being a collector, so if someone fails in achiving it than what are the other options?

Dear Aspirant
To crack civil service examination you don't need to be extra- talented.If you feel so then download previous years prelims question of GS and try to solve them.If you have basic knowledge you can solve them.Since the syllabus is so vast so you need continuous learning and motivating yourself as examination is conducted in three phase consists of preliminary ,main and interview for a year.So moment you lose focus you are in downward terrain.Just make a good study plan and stick to it. Develop a habit of reading newspaper and grasp over current scenario.

If you pass civil service examination then you can get jobs in Groups B services if you cannot get IAS jobs
