Examination Pattern for UPSC Combined Defense Service Examination
Paper I - English Language for 100 marks and there will be various sections asked in this examination to check the proficiency of candidate in english language and comprehension so you should follow the syllabus and prepare
Paper II - General Knowledge for 100 marks and set from various parts of General Studies - Indian History, Polity, Environment, Science, Current Affairs etc.
Paper III - Elementary Mathematics for 100 marks - Various sections of mathematics asked in this paper that are - Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Mensuration, Statistics etc.

CDSE is a examination for entry in all three wings.
Indian Air Force.
Indian Army.
Indian Navy.
The qualification required is Graduation from any stream with physics and maths in 10+2-Air Force Academy.
Graduation in any stream-IMA and OTA.
B.SC(Physics and maths).
The three papers for applying in CDSE are
1)English.
2)General Knowledge.
3)Elementary Mathematics.
There is no special question paper for Instrumentation Engineering.
The CDSE is conducted by UPSC.
