Re: Compulsory and optional subjects for IAS exam? What is the pattern, cutoff and marking scheme of it?

There are many optional subjects in the civil services examination so there is an option for the academics and languages so you need to choose the subjects from your own way because that will be the only thing that will compulsory for you in the examination of the MAINS.
Before that you need to clear the preliminary examination which is also known as the CSAT examination- Civil services aptitude test.
In CSAt examimination there are two papers of the General srtudies and each of the examination carry 200 marks that is 400 marks in total.
If you qualify the examination then you will be called for the MAINS examination into that you need to choose the subjects as per your interest because that is simply as per the interest.
Into the MAINS examination there will be 9 papers and the total marks of the examination will be 2000 marks and if you qualify the examination then you will be called for the Personal interview which is also known as personality test.
After that there will be the merit list preperation and after that you will know the truth that you will be selected or rejected.
