The IAS exam has three stages prelims, mains and interview. Preliminary exam is common for everyone and one has to pass prelims to get to the next stage which is mains exam.
Preliminary exam has 2 papers which will be of General Studies and will be objective type in nature. The question comes from mainly English, Maths, Reasoning and General Knowledge .
For Mains Exam following subjects are there:
-Paper 1: Section I- Essay 200 Marks Section II: English Comprehension & English Pr�cise 100 Marks
