hi dear,

there is no percentage bar of marks for NDA exam. for NDA you just need 12th with any percentage. you can also apply for NDA exam while studying in 12th. So don't worry about percentage and just concentrate on preparation and your goal.

NDA exam is conducted for the posts in Air Force, Navy and Army.

NDA exam is conducted in two phases:
1. Written
2. SSB


for NDA your age must be within 16.5 years to 19 years. there is no relaxation for any category.

you should be Indian citizen. NDA exam is conducted only for unmarried male candidates.



you must be physically and mentally fit.

Physical requirements:
Height:- Male 165 cm & ST(not for SC and OBC) 160 cm.
Chest:- Male minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm.
Eye Sight:- 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good Eye
6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye.
Near Vision J1 for Good Eye and J2 for worst eye.

Required physical standards for NDA Exam are as follows:

Height for giving NDA is atleast 160cm with age between 16.5-19 years. You must be 12th appearing or passed to give NDA.

1.The height criteria required in NDA are given below as:-

Minimum Height for Air Force 162.5 cms

Minimum Height for Army/Navy 157.5cms

The appropriate weights to respective heights are available in advertisement of NDA examination.

2.The eyesight criteria are given below:-

>Eyesight criteria for Navy are:-

Uncorrected without glass 6/6
Corrected with glass 6/6
Limits of Myopia -0.75
Limits of Hypermetropia +1.5
Limits of Colour Perception I
Binocular Vision III

Eyesight criteria for Air Force and Army are:-

Uncorrected without glass 6/6,6/9
Corrected with glass 6/6(only for hypermetropia)
Limits of Myopia nil
Limits of Hypermetropia +2.00 D Sph
Colour Vision CPI (MLT)
Astigmatism +0.75 Cyl
Near Vision N-5 each eye

3.The criteria for chest dimensions are:-

>Fully expanded chest should not be less than 81 cms.

>The minimum range of expansion after full inspiration should be 5 cms.

The eyesight required in all the wings of NDA are as follows:
Army= -2.5D for Myopia and +3D for Hypermetropia
Navy= -0.75D for Myopia and +1.5D for Hypermetropia
Airforce= Myopia- Nil and +2D for hypermetropia.

The minimum height required for all the 3 wings are as follows:
Army=157.5cm
Navy 157.5cm
Air Force= 162.5cm with leg length between 99-120cm with thigh length maximum 64cm.
There is provision for relaxation of height for Army 2.5cm,Navy 5cm and Airforce 5cm,based on the ground that the Medical board during the medical tests prescribes that candidates can still grow in future as the age for NDA is very less and candidates usually grow more in this duration.
