Gud evng sir/mam im muslim n my name is ruksaar from andhra pradesh state n i want information about reservation. In my state i hv 4% reserve n im com undr obc,so plz would u gv me information that i wil com under obc in civils exams r not and wat is d age limit

At central level, Muslims do not have any reservation for any of the central services. So, you would not be able to avail any reservation in civils exam related to the community you belong. You will come under general category for which age limits are 21 - 30 yrs.

Civil services examinations are conducted for the different services like IPS,IFS,IAS by the Union Public service commission.

Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university is the least qualification required for the examinations .Final year bachelor's degree candidates are also eligible for the exam.

This educational qualification required is same for candidates of all category.

Now coming to the relaxation provided to reserved category.

The age limit is 21-30 years for the general category.

For OBC and SC/ST respectively ,the upper age limit is 33 years and 35 years.

In case of no of attempts ,for general candidates it is four only but for obc is seven and for the sc/st there is no limit that is they can attempt till their age limit is valid.

Also some of % of seats are relaxed in the examinations for the reserved category.

Note: You can check your category whether it comes in obc or not in Upsc advertisement for the examinations.

The civil services first stage will be conducted on 19/05/2013 .The date of registration has started from 02/02/2013.

It is 27% rservation for OBC candidates who belong to non-creamiliar category.

And also relaxation is given in upper age limit.

The general age limit is 21-30 years.

Whereas for obc aspirant it is 21-33 years.

Also relaxation in exam sitting is given.

OBC category has some reservations in UPSC exams.

Generally for IAS / IPS / IFS exams cinducted by UPSC has these eligibility criteria -

Graduation from a recognised university.

Age should be between 21 years to 30 years.

But in case of OBC, the resrvation includes relaaxation in the upper limit of age to apply for UPSC exams.'

For OBC, the age criteria for UPSC exams is between 21 years - 33 years.

Moreover an OBC candidate can make 7 attempts for civil services exams, unlike general category which can make only 4 attempts.

So, these are the reservations for OBC category.

Please also read that he is a muslim..

Well, at asker,, Mine friend MUslims dont hold any kind of reservation at central level,,

and thus you come under General category.

UPSC conducts the Civil Services Exam(CSE) every year for aspirants.
CSE is conducted to make selections for 24 posts/services.
Some of the popular posts are IAS,IPS,IFS,IRS,etc.

The reseverved category in the CSE comprises of the OBC,SC,ST,PH,Ex-servicemen,etc.
The OBC candidates appearing in the CSE get the benefits of age relaxation and no.of attempts.

21 to 33 years-OBC
21 to 35 years-SC/ST
21 to 40 years-Physically challenged candidate
21 to 35 years-Ex-government service man.

4 for General Category
7 for OBC(Other Backward Classes)
