IAS means Indian administrative services. it is non-technical
whereas IES is Indian engineering services. so it is technical
if you will talk about power both are powerful as their fields are different so its up to you in which field you want to be powerfull.

Both IAS & IES exams are conducted by UPSC.
IAS officers are the backbone of Indian Govt. All important daily affairs of the govt are handled by an IAS officer including framing & implementation of policy. Therefore if any irregularities occur they are answerable to Parliament & State Legislature.
Civil Services Exams are conducted for recruitment of IAS officers
Required Qualification to appear for Civil Services Exam
-You should have passed Graduation degree in any specialization from recognized Institute.
-You are for civil service exam while in graduation final year.
-UPSC Civil service exam has no restriction on graduation percentage.
-Your Age should be within the limit of 21 to 23 years.
-You must be a citizen of India.
IES are technical services that meet the technical & managerial functions of the Govt. of India. This is considered to be the toughest exam due to limited no. of seats available.
Only EC, EE, MECHANICAL & CIVIL Engineers are eligible to apply.

ias needs your graduation while ies needs engineering degree
ias has more power but ies has more money
IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service & IES stands for Indian Engineering Service. As both the exams are conducted by UPSC, both are equal in powers. The two fields are completely different. None of them can meddle in each others' work until they are asked to.

Dear IAS Stands for - Indian Administrative Service and IES stands for - Indian Engineering Service
Indian Administrative Service : If any candidate want to apply for IAS exam then he/she is eligible to apply for this exam if having a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university and final year pursuing candidates are also eligible and age should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years and relaxation in upper age as 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC category candidates
Indian Engineering Service : If any candidate want to apply for IES exam then he/she eligible to apply for this exam if having a bachelor's degree in engineering in any one of the - Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university and age should be between 21-30 years and relaxation in upper age follows same as mentioned above
If you ask about the powers and authorities between both of the IAS and IES then IAS post is more powerful than IES post because after qualifying the IAS exam the top 50 rankers gets - IFS - Indian Foreign Services then Middle rankers becomes - District Collector and lower rankers get various posts as - Indian Revenue Services and others so that finally IAS is powerful than all other services and IAS is the most powerful administrative and highest post in entire India so that you should prepare for this exam and you may apply for upcoming IAS exam between these following dates :

IAS means INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES
IES means INDIAN ENGINEERING SERVICES
Both exam are conducted by UPSC. there are a lot of difference but if we talk about power then we can't say any thing about this both job have its own role so it difficult to measure the power of both job.
the major difference is that one is technical field and another in non- technical field
For the post of IES only engineers are eligible but for the post of IAS all stream candidate are eligible.

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Services and anyone with graduation degree in any streams can apply for it fulfilling the age limit and IES stands for Indian Engineering Services and those are eligible who have passed the graduation in engineering from recognized university.
One cannot compare the IAS and IES.Both has there own powers.
