UPSC can conducts the civil services examsfor( IAS,IPS) also conducts CMS,IES,CPF,CDS,IFS etc......
UPSC takes these exams every year.
IAS,IPS,IES,IFS exams can be conducts in 2 stages namely
Preliminary exam
Main examination.
After completion of preliminary exam you are eligible for Main examination.
After clearing the main examination you will be called for final interview.
Preliminary examination should consist of 2 papers.Which is conducted on objective type only.
Main examination should consist of 9 papers,it is a descriptive exam.

the basic qualification for the civll service exam is the graduation in any stream from the recognized university.which is
approved by the ugc/aicet.
age limit:-The age limit is for general category is 21 to 30 years. And attempt the exam 4 times.
The age limit is for obc category is 21 to 33 years (3 years relaxation). Attempt the exam 7 times.
Age limit for SC/ST category is 21 to 35 years and attempt chance till overage. Means unlimited

Books are the best way to get basic knowledge about UPSC exam.
But friend basic knowledge is not sufficient.
You should have deep knowledge of each topics and subjects.
For this I will suggest you to join the good institute for the preparation of CSAT exam.
You should always study from reference books and NCERT books.
Required Criteria for UPSC exam
You should be graduate from any recognized University or its equivalent.
Final year student can also apply for UPSC exam.
No certain marks of percentage required.
Your age should be 21 to 30 years
Age relaxation
SC/ST + 5 years
OBC + 3 years
PH + 10 years
You must be Indian.
