I have done my b.tech in ECE this year only.now i am working in MNC as software engg.i want to go for civil services...for me reputationa and power is more important.can u me suggest me whether i shall opt for ias or ies.which one is better....and in which one gets a VEHICLE WITH RED LIGHT.
if Ies then is it really a gud kind of job.wheather an IES officer have same status as IAS offier in power ,postion etc.....

There is the same status and position in both IES and IAS. But the IAS officers render their services to the society as a whole whereas the IES officers render their services in the limited areas. So the Power of IAS officers must be broadened than IES officers. And about the red light vehicles, both will get it. So Don't worry about the power and position, Firstly, You made up your mind to which one will be easy and your passion. Best Of Luck.

with no doubt,'indian administration services' offer more status reputation and power than the 'indian engineering services'.
The ies offers the posts of engineers in reputed sectors at through centre,but the work of an ias is the administrating at the centre.
He formulates rules for better governance.he can act in any way,through which he thinks the society would prosper.
An ias definitely involves a lot more power than an ies.his work also contains in a lots of responsibility.
'a car with a red light" is also awarded to an ias,thus indicating his status.
Thus,a guy of your kind,looking for dignity and honour,more than money,should go for the ias exams instead of ies exams.

IAS officer is the top rank officer among IAS/IPS/IFS/IES, but remember these all oficer can have VEHICLE WITH RED LIGHT.
My friend both the post IAS as well as IES will provide you power along with Vehicle with red light on it .
So you choose any one of the exam .
As you are the ECE engineer so that IES exam will be easy for you compared to IAS exam .
In IES exam your branch related questions will be asked where in IAS , you have to prepare other subjects also .
So both the post have good reputation and power , choose any one of them and start the preparation for the exam .
Be sure that your age is between 21-30 for general cast , 3 years relaxion forobc and 5 years relaxion for sc/st .

Please see that you are giving preferences to the right things and also see that you are equally right for the kind of job, and hence fortune.
You should not waste more energy in simply comparing the beacon light and power status between the bureaucrates of different services, instead I think you should be more mature to compare your own abilities to best suit the job profile.
Never mind, accept the fact become something what you are capable of and not what others display.

As you oftenly heard in our society that being an IAS officer is eternal dreams of many,
people tries for many years to get through them,
since both IAS & IES shares equal status in lieu of respect,power,salary & many other opportunity.
but being an IAS you are meant to serve the people's society so you have vast experience ,power, in wider field rather that of IES where you are constraint only to the engineering jobs.
so in my suggestion go for the IAS rather then IES.
it gives you all what you want to be , but it also demand's more from you
if you need extreme power and reputation then go for ias. but in my opinion you should go for ies interview since it is close to your educational background so ies would be easy for you to crack.

both IAS (indian administrative service) and IES (indian engineering service) are the entrance exam held by upsc (union public service commission).
both the entrance has its own powers ,functions and its value.we can not judge it.right...
yeah both in IAS ,qualification required is any bachelor degree where as for IES ,only for those who has completed their graduation in engineering
both of them are govt jobs..
if you thinking about money then friend there are ample of companies,private jobs where you can go as per your qualification
