Benefits of SCRA apprenticeship:
1) The candidates who cleared Special Class Railway Apprentice exam will be inducted as apprentices Indian Railways. THey will get 4 years of theoretical & practical training in a Railway workshop for a period of 4 years.
2) During the period of training, the apprentices will be granted a stipend.
1st and 2nd year - Rs. 9100 per month
3rd year & first six months of final year - Rs.9300 per month
final 6 months- 9700 per month
3) After successful completion of the training , they will get Mechanical Engineering degree from Birla Institute, Ranchi
For this they have to attend the semester examinations conducted by that institute,
4) After that, the apprentices may be inducted as probationary officers in Indian Railways for 18 months. Depending on performance, they will be made permanent.
