    Of course you are eligible for IAS .The eligibility criteria for IAS is graduation in any stream.

    hello frnds after cpmleting b.tech u have to appear for
    1. prelims exam that is objective type aptitude test and common for all , if u clear that exam then u have to appear for mains exam.... which is subjective type exam.... and last phase is interview.
    The detailed syllabus and sample paper for this, are attached with this message.

    2. Main Examination and Interview.
    Those who qualify Preliminary exam are called for Main exam and on the basis of
    performance in Main exam candidates are called for Interview.
    The total marks obtained in Main exam and Interview is added to prepare the final merit list.
    The main examination contains following papers.

    1. Essay type Indian Language Qualifying Paper (300 marks)
    2. English Qualifying Paper (300 marks)
    3. General Essay type paper (200 marks)
    4. General Studies (Paper-I&II 300 marks each)
    5. Optional subject-I(Paper-I&II 300 marks each)
    6. Optional subject-II(Paper-I&II 300 marks each)

    You can choose any two of the following mentioned subject for optional paper in Main exam .

    Hello,
    If you have B.tech degree then you can appear in IES exam i.e. Engineering Services Examination. There are four category of the examination, you should tell us about the branch in which you are doing or completed the B.tech degree after that you can fill up the form for IES. The four categories are:

    Category I�Civil Engineering.
    Category II�Mechanical Engineering.
    Category III�Electrical Engineering.
    Category IV�Electronics & Telecommunication
    Engineering

    First of all you have to fill up online form from UPSC official website www.upsc.gov.in

    You are required to pay a fee of Rs. 100/- (not for ST/SC candidates)

    You have to scan a photo of yours in .jpg image which is between 3 kb to 40 kb and 1 kb for signature which is also scan.

    You can pay the payment through SBI challan or by Debit card/visa card.

    The Online applications(Part I and II) can be filled from 10th March, 2012 to 9th
    April, 2012 till 11.59 p.m., after which link will be disabled.

    and then you have to apply online by using the given link in this you have to select some optional subjects from a given list.

    How to apply:-

    --Candidates can purchase the application forms from the designated post office. The amount to be paid is Rs 50/-.
    --Next step is to send the filled application from along with the acknowledgment card to the officer in charge.

    How to fill the Form:-

    --Candidates should buy the application form only from a post office. They should clearly fill in all the required columns.

    --The 8 digit bar code number should be noted down separately by the candidate for future reference.

    --They should not use a photo copy of the form, it will not be accepted.

    --Candidates should not enclose copy of their certificates along with the form. They should send it only with the acknowledgment card.

    Eligibility:-

    Some of the exams by the UPSC, like the Civil Service Exam has very lengthy process and the candidate appearing the exam must go through an excruciating training and preparation process.
    --The candidates are given only 4 attempts(GENERAL CATEGORY), 7 ATTEMPTS FOR OBC, NO LIMIT FOR SC/ST to clear the Civil service exam by the UPSC.

    --The candidates applying for the UPSC exam must be more then 21 years of age.

    --The candidates must also have a degree or other education qualification certification from a University which has been incorporated by the Central or state legislature in the country.

    Required Qualification to appear for Civil Services Exam

    1.You should have passed Graduation degree in any specialization from recognized Institute.
    2.You are for civil service exam while in graduation final year.
    3.UPSC Civil service exam has no restriction on graduation percentage.
    4.Your Age should be within the limit of 21 to 23 years.
    5.You must be a citizen of India.

    Civil Service Examination has three stages

    1st Stage: Preliminary Exam

    2nd Stage: Main Examination

    3rd(Final Stage): Interview

    Eligibility Criteria::


    • You must be a citizen of India.
    • Age limits :
    • You must have attained 21 years and not be over 30 years on August 1 of the year of examination.
    • The upper age limit is relaxed in specific cases as mentioned below:
    • upto a maximum of 5 years if the candidate belongs to SC/ST.
    • upto a maximum of 3 years if the candidate belongs to Other Backward Classes(BC's)
    • You must complete your Graduation Degree(No restriction in Min.Percent)
    Number of attempts::
    - General candidates: four attempts.
    - Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates: No restriction.
    - Other Backward Classes: seven attempts.

    Fee::Rs. 100/-
    (No fee for SCs/STs/Physically disabled)

    Step by Step procedure :


    1st Stage in IAS Exam Pattern(CSAT)::

    Preliminary or simply CSAT is the first tier within the 3 stage IAS exam.
    It's usually conducted around 2nd or third Sunday each May in which around 1.5 lac IAS aspirants appear for the Preliminary.

    The Prelims includes 2 papers of two hundred scores equally common to all applicants.
    Paper 1 consists the Questions on:
    - Indian politics
    - Current affairs
    - GK
    - Indian History
    - Geography
    - General Science and Economy
    And the 2nd paper comprises of questions about:
    - Mental ability
    - Comprehension skills
    - Logical reasoning
    - Passage
    - Statistics and decision making ability.

    The outcome of Prelims are announced during the 2nd week of August.
    And you will qualify for the 2nd level(Main Exams) of this IAS Exam - if have finished prelims successfully.

    2nd Stage in IAS Exam Pattern(Mains)::
    The 2nd phase Mains contains the score of 2000 Marks.
    You are required to select 2 optional papers for the civil services Mains, while GS and Essay are standard to all people.
    Mandatory Papers in Mains:
    - English, and one Indian language paper

    3rd and Final Stage in IAS Exam::
    The third level is considered the Employment interview level conducted by a group of specialists in the UPSC hq located at Shahjahan Road, Delhi.
    Commonly 2.5 times the total vacancies during a particular year are called for this IAS personality assessment that commences around the last week of March and carries on right till the 1st week of May.

    The IAS interview is led by UPSC members and technocrats.
    The civil services interview generally takes twenty minutes even though many IAS candidates have faced 5 minute interviews also.

    for b.tech holders in upsc

    you might be eligible for any upsc exams like ias,ips,cds,ifs and etc

    you also eligible to write any government exam

    you can apply the jobs in online or offline mode anything is no

    problem
    coming to syllabus there is lot of variation between the subjects you

    had studied in your b.tech and upsc subjects

    so thats why prepare for longer time and grip the concept wise
    knowledge

    Civil Services Examination is conducted by UPSC every year for the recruitment of candidates for the post of IAS, IRS, IPS.

    Exam Format of Civil Services Examination

    The Civil Services Exam is a paper based test and consists of two successive stages:
    1. Preliminary Examination � comprising 2 exams � General Studies and CSAT
    2. Civil Services Main Examination (Written and Interview)

    The basic eligibility criteria for Civil Services Exam are as follows:
    Educational Qualification
    The candidate must hold any degree in any discipline from any recognized university
    Final year degree students are also eligible
    Degree obtained by distance education/open university is also eligible if the university is a recognized university

    Age limit
    General 21-30 yrs
    SC/ST 21-35 yrs
    OBC 21-33 yrs
    PH 21-40 yrs

    Number of attempts permitted

    Complete Procedure for UPSC exams is following as :


    1. Online Application : UPSC Release the notification for various exams and invites online applications for various posts and online application system is available at - www.upsc.gov.in

    2. Issuing of Admit Card/Hall Ticket/Roll No. For exam : After sometimes of application and before about 2 weeks of the exam UPSC board provides admit Cards for exam and admit cards also would be available at the above mentioned website.

    3. Preliminary Exam : You will get the admit cards for prelims exam and you will have to appear for objective type prelims exam and qualify this exam if you want to appear for mains exam.

    4. Mains Examination : After qualifying prelims exam you will have to apply for mains exam and this is a descriptive type exam which is most compulsory to qualify for interview process and you have to choose any two subjects in this exam for mains then qualify all 7 papers then you will be eligible to get interview call.

    5. Interview Process : You have to face interview process after qualifying prelims and mains exam and if you pass in this process then you may become a officer of civil services under Indian government.
