mains should be a subjected in which you are interested
i cant just blindly tell you a subject as only you know which subjected you are interested in
if you are asking me which optional subject is a scoring optional i would say history and geography

It all varies with person to person; as per my opinion you should start with the subject which you like most, so it flows energy into you and study as well and you can focus better with other subjects as well. you should keep changing subject during your preparations to keep your mind fresh and active.

subject you opt for which you have in your bachelor degree.why i am saying ,because the topics which you had in degree will be fresh and easily catch able .it consume less time when compare to new concept right.
for example you done with life science in degree then it would be easy for you to choose biology(botany ,zoology),anthropology etc.
choose the subject of your profession,so that you can easily grasp the subject withing short span of time.
**ALSO MAKE SURE THE CANDIDATE REACH THE ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS APPEARING FOR THE PARTICULAR EXAM.

Mains exam consist many optional subject which you can choose after clearing preliminary exam.
Every subject is good scorer that you can choose. you have to choose those optional subject in which you have full knowledge or field related subject.
To join civil services exam,you must be passed a bachelor degree from a recognized university in any percentage.
Appearing in final year candidates are also eligible.
your age should be between 21-30 years.Age relaxation is given to reserved category students.
you must be Indian citizen.
Civil services exam preliminary exam,mains exam and Interview
you can choose only two subject as your optional subject from list of subjects.

You can choose general knowledge subjects in Main exam to start mains preparation.You must be doing work hard than crack a upsc examination.You should be 21 to 30 years and get a relaxation as per rule government.You can apply 4 times for upsc examination.

There is no such easy subject through which you can crack the upsc exam. because in any paper ypu chose, you have to study that subject completely and fundamentally in order to crack the civil services exam.
A complete dedication and devotion is needed for a particular subject when you preparing for the IAS mains exam
