Re: Subjects for BDS graduates in UPSC exam?

I hope I am getting your point despite not mentioned by you clearly that you are trying to ask about Indian Civil Service Examination that you have to appear in next year because this year's civil service preliminary exam has been conducted and result has been declared and not main exam will be held in December of this year so you should get more details first about this examination

As you have explained that you are pursuing 3rd year of your B.Tech so you are eligible for this exam but your age should be between 21-30 years to appear for it

Examination Pattern : Following stages are there in examination

Preliminary Examination - 2 objective type papers for 400 marks and qualifying in prelims is mandatory

Main Examination - Seven Conventional type papers will be conducted in this section and passing in each of these papers is compulsory

Paper I - Essay for 200 marks and English Comprehension for 100 marks = 300 marks and papers are - General Studies and CSAT

Paper II, III, IV and V - General Studies I, II, III and IV - 250 marks each

Paper VI and VII - Optional Subject paper I and II - 250 marks each

I have listed all those subjects which are available and you may choose anyone of them for last two papers

    Agriculture
    Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science
    Anthropology
    Botany
    Chemistry
    Civil Engineering
    Commerce and Accountancy
    Economics
    Electrical Engineering
    Geography
    Geology
    History
    Law

    Medical Science
    Philosophy
    Physics
    Psychology
    Political Science and International Relations
    Public Administration

You can choose anyone of them for last two papers and both of those papers will be based on the selected subject so be sincere in selection of subject
