I hope I am getting your point despite not mentioned by you clearly that you are trying to ask about Indian Civil Service Examination that you have to appear in next year because this year's civil service preliminary exam has been conducted and result has been declared and not main exam will be held in December of this year so you should get more details first about this examination
As you have explained that you are pursuing 3rd year of your B.Tech so you are eligible for this exam but your age should be between 21-30 years to appear for it
Examination Pattern : Following stages are there in examination
Preliminary Examination - 2 objective type papers for 400 marks and qualifying in prelims is mandatory
Main Examination - Seven Conventional type papers will be conducted in this section and passing in each of these papers is compulsory
Paper I - Essay for 200 marks and English Comprehension for 100 marks = 300 marks and papers are - General Studies and CSAT
Paper II, III, IV and V - General Studies I, II, III and IV - 250 marks each
Paper VI and VII - Optional Subject paper I and II - 250 marks each
