    HELLO,
    -You have done quite well at this point of time to OPT for GEOGRAPHY as one of your subjects for the UPSC CIVIL SERVICES' Mains exams.
    -The Arts Subjects have had a higher success rate in the past when compared to any other subjects.
    -The subjects such as INDIAN HISTORY,PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION,POLITICAL SCIENCE and GEOGRAPHY have been among the first choice of candidates in the past.
    -Since the combination of Geography is not restricted with any other subject,you can opt one of these as the second optional subject for exams.
    -tHe subjects mentioned above are highly scoring.
    Added to it,the fact that these subject form the core of the Paper-I exams of the CIVIL SERVICES Preliminary exams,hands you with an additional advantage as you prepare for Both Preliminary and Mains,simultaneously,thus saving a lot of time.
    -SOCIOLOGY is another good choice to make for the optional subjects in Mains.
    With your Aim to have a subject with Lesser syllabus,You can definitely go with it.
    -HOWEVER,I RECOMMEND YOU NOT TO BE IN FAVOUR OF LESSER SYLLABUS,AND LESSER STUDY.KEEP IN MIND THAT THE CIVIL SERVICE EXAMINATIONS ARE A TOUGH NUT TO CRACK.
    WITH THE COMPETITION GROWING WILDER,IT WILL NO WAY GET EASIER.
    ONLY STUDENTS WHO FIND READING AND STUDYING AS THEIR INTERESTS,WILL GET ALONG TO DO WELL.
    - Work hard and practice writing a lot with improved skills.
    - For details and notifications with regards to the exams,visit the official website of the UPSC- www.upsc.gov.in
    ALL THE BEST !!

    DEAR Yusuf ,
    I will suggested you "SOCIOLOGY" among your option for the less syllabus, as it gives you dual advantage this combination will cover lots of syllabus also in prelim's besides other combination.

    best coaching institute for these subjects are

    ->> eten's academy
    ->> chanakya IAS academy
    ->> rau's IAS academy

    go accordingly.

    good luck
