Is there any Computer related subject for UPSC mains exam?

This is Aman. Sir, I have completed MCA. I want to clear UPSC exam. So, is there any computer related subjects are available for the Main exam or not.

No there is not any computer related subjects in UPSC Mains exam.

For UPSC Mains you have to choose Subjects. There are total 51 Optional Subjects in which 23 are from main subjects and 28 Language Subjects like Hindi, English, Bengali etc.

Sorry there is no computer based exam in UPSC mains.
Subjects of UPSC mains are usually Essay, Precis writing, Comprehension etc.

from the given subjects only you have to choose any 2 subjects of your interest.

The UPSC offers no subject related to COMPUTER in the optional list of subjects in the Mains of Civil Service exams.

So its best recommended for you to opt for the ARTS Subjects,such as the PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION,INDIAN HISTORY,GEOGRAPHY OR POLITICAL SCIENCE,as the subjects are Highly Scoring.
Not only this,they form a very core part even at the Preliminary exams and Interviews too.
So,this might be a good combination for you and would help you in clearing this exams.

Sorry to say that their is no optional subject

In the upsc exams of computer

And you can't choose computer as a optional subject

As the pattern of the upsc exam:

Pre Exam
Main Exam
Interview

As gk is compulsory subjects and rest are optional subjects

And you can choose commerce and accountancy and economics and history and geography and many more

As their are some easy subjects also

But you can choose the subjects in which you are strong

i feel very bad to inform you that there is not computer related subject in upsc main exam . but you are a MCA student so you can choose Mathematics or physics subject for UPSC main exam .

But don't panic, as you are a MCA student so you can easily do well in Mathematics and Statistics.

First, you need to know what is UPSC.

UPSC is Union Public Service Commission which conducts many exams in which Civil Service Exam(CSE) is one of them.


CSE has a misnomer as 'IAS exam' or 'UPSC exam'.

There are no subjects related to computer science in the whole UPSC.

But you're allowed to take the subjects in whatever you're interested.
