There is no difference in exam or exam pattern of NDA I and NDA II.NDA exam is conducted twice a year by UPSC.The first exam of the year is called NDA I and 2nd exam is NDA II.That is why I and II and no other reason. The date of joining the Academy will be different as NDA training commences twice a year. That is the only difference.Other than that, everything else remains the same. Both exams are equal in value and totally separate.Your performance in NDA I will in no way influence the performance in NDA II.

Friend, please note that there is no any difference in NDA I and NDA II Examinations. As NDA I and NDA II suggest that they are NDA Exams which are held two times in a year and which NDA Examination comes first known as NDA I Examination and other which comes second known as NDA II Examination. There is no any difference in the eligibility criteria, syllabus and exam pattern in both NDA Examinations.

Re: Is there any difference between NDA I and NDA II? Why is it referred as I and II?

Basically there is no difference between NDA I and NDA II.NDA(National Defence Academy)entrance examination is conducted by Union Public Service 2 times in a year, The eligibility is same,it enables candidate to sit for same exams twice within the year.If Ist NDA Exam is unsatisfactory then a candidate can get chance for IINDa exam.Or if a candidate get's eligibility for IInd NDA then he can sit for 2nd one, indeed it is a special chance to him.Through this NDA a candidate can join Army/Air Force/Navy as per his choice.

    Thank You,

Re: Is there any difference between NDA I and NDA II? Why is it referred as I and II?

    dear aspirant,

there is no difference between NDA -I and NDA-II exam.

Both NDA-I and NDA-II are conducted for joining defence Services.

Both NDA-I and NDA-II are conducted by UPSC every year.

NDA-I and NDA-II has same exam pattern and candidates get same posts through NDA-I and NDA-II.

for both the exam your age must be within 16.5 years to 19 years.

for both of exam you need 12th with Physics, Chemistry and mathematics.

the reason for giving the names as NDA-I and NDA-II is to differentiate both of exams so that they can be uniquely identified and there should be no confusion about the exam.

the reason of conducting NDA exam twice in a year is that there are large number of vacancies in Indian Defence every year. to fill such a large number of vacancies the exam is conducted twice and Named NDA-I and NDA-II.

you can apply for NDA-I or NDA-I or in Both NDA-I and NDA-II in same year.

    Good Luck.....

    Hello dear ,

I have a clear picture of you that you are in a state of confusion about the NDA Examinations .

NDA stands for National Defence Academy Examinations and is conducted twice a year by the
Union Public Service Commission of India ( UPSC ) .

And Hence The first NDA examination of the Year is called as NDA - I and the latter as NDA - II examinations.
Both the Examination is conducted under the same syllabus and pattern .

The only deference remains is the time oif their Conduction and hence two different symbols ( I and II ) are used to dipict this dissimilarity .

So Don't get confused with it , friend .

    Dear Aspirant

Since NDA examination are conducted twice in a year and so the first notification brought up by UPSC is named as NDA (I) and the second notification brought by UPSC is referred as NDA(II).There is no other reason behind this. The examination paper format and marking scheme are same. Infact all the procedures are same. You need not to worry. Infact you should be happy that you are getting twice opportunity in a year to achieve your dreams.

    All the best
