You have to apply for IPS (Indian Police Service) through Civil Services Examination. Civil Service Examination is conducted by UPSC every year for the recruitment of candidates for the post of IPS.
The eligibility criteria for IPS Exam are as follows:
Educational Qualification
The candidate must hold any degree in any discipline from any recognized university
Final year degree students are also eligible
Degree obtained by distance education/open university is also eligible if the university is a recognized university
Age limit
General 21-30 yrs
SC/ST 21-35 yrs
OBC 21-33 yrs
Number of attempts permitted
General 4
OBC 7
PH 7
SC/ST No Limit
Nationality should be Indian.
Special Physical Requirements For IPS
1.Minimum height of 165 cm for Men and 150 cm for Women (minimum height is relaxable to 160 and 145 cm for Men and Women respectively in the case of candidates belonging to ST and to races such as Gorkhas, Garhwalias, Assamese, Kumaonis, Nagaland Tribals etc.)
2.Min Chest girth fully expanded: 84 cm for Men and 79 cm for Women. Expansion of 5 cm for Men and Women.
3.Total amount of Myopia (including the cylinder) should not exceed minus 4.00 D and total amount of Hypermetropia (including the cylinder) should not exceed plus 4.00 D
4.Presence of Squint is a disqualification

You have to compete your graduation and get a degree from any recognised university or equivalent.
After getting a degree you will be eligible to apply for the IPS exam conducted by UPSC every year.
You will also be eligible to apply for the PSI exams.

If you are interested to become a police officer in India then you need to have following qualifications :
1. Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized board/university/institute.
2. Age should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years and relaxation in age as per government guidelines which is 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC category candidates.
3. Physical Standards according to Selection Board - UPSC/SSC/State Government :
Male Hight - 165 cm and 160 cm for SC/ST and other reserved category candidates.
Female Hight - 150 cm and 145 cm for SC/ST and other reserved category candidates.
Chest Male - 84 cm and must have expansion of 5 cm
Chest Female - 79 cm and must have expansion of 5 cm
Eye Sight - Eye Sight should be about - 6/6 or 6/9 for good eye and - 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye. and should have distant vision - J 1
Nasal : Candidate should not stammer while speaking/talking/etc.
Ear : Good listening and normal year cavity and 1000 to 4000 frequency, hearing impairment should not be more than 30 decibels.
Female - Female Candidate should not be pregnant while the physical or medical test.
If you have above mentioned eligibility then you can become a police officer but you will have to prepare hard for your written examination because this is the most important stage for you to qualify and if you could not qualify then you would not be eligible for further process of selection so prepare hard.

Because to be eligible for IPS you must have a minimum of GRADUATION from a recognized university
And the minimum age must be 21 years
And so firstly TRY to complete the GRADUATION

Educational Qualification :
If you have a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university with at least 50% marks or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized university then you are eligible according to educational qualification.
Age Limit :
If your age is between 21-30 years then you are eligible in age and if you belongs to reserved category then you may get upper age relaxation in age as per government standards which would be about 5 years for SC/STs and 3 years for OBC category candidates.
