Basically there are two modes of entry in the police department.
Either you may apply for police force of a particular state or may apply for Indian Police Service on national level.
Sine you are not a graduate yet, you won't be eligible to apply for the post of Assistant Sub Inspector or Sub Inspector in the police force of your state and neither you are eligible to apply for the Indian Police Service.
So, if you want to join the police department as an officer, you need to complete your graduation, in any discipline.
State level examination for recruitment of state police force is conducted by the public service commission of that particular state, whereas, recruitment of candidates in the Indian Police Service, also known as IPS is done through civil service examination conducted by union public service commission.

if you are only 10th pass then u can only go for ground duty constable not as an officer (which needs higher qualification).but after giving 7 years as constable you will be considered as graduated by the deparment and then can apply for officers rank

It has been 12 years since you have passed your class 10 exams.So i hope you have upgraded your educational qualifications,otherwise it might prove difficult for you to join Indian police.
Anyways,the best job in the police force is that of an IPS.You must hold a graduadion degree to be eligible for it.It is conducted by the UPSC as the Civil Services examination.

If you want to go for a police department then you have to apply the upsc exam .
The criteria for the exam is below :
-> one should done their graduation from any recognized university with minimum 60% marks for general cast , 55% for other cast .
-> A final year student can also eligible for applying the exam .
-> age limit is 21-30 for general cast , 3 years relaxion for obc , 5 years relaxion for sc/st/ex-serviceman / physically handicapped .
-> maximum 4 attempts are allowed for the general cast , 7 for obc cast and no limit for the no of attempts for the sc/st cast .
For the post of Inspector you have to complete your graduation atleast but you didn't mention the education qualification , so please be sure that if you are graduate and fulfill the physical requirement then you are eligible for the exam .
