    hi,

First you need to understand that what is Prelims and Mains.

Prelims Exam contains Only General Study and Aptitude and English.

So There is no law Subject in Prelim exam.

    >> If you want law subject in mains exam then you can Select as subject of you choice.

    >> In UPSC exams the content is not considered but quality is main aspect.

    All the Best.

    Dear Aspirant
As per new examination format of Civil Service examination preliminary examination consists only one of two papers based on General Studies and second papers consists questions on DI ,Aptitude and Reasoning. No optional paper are there in Preliminary examination.

For detailed syllabus of Law which is one of the optional provided by UPSC in the Main Examination Visit UPSC official websites(www.upsc.gov.in)

    All the best
