Question pattern:-
The CPF exam consists of two papers with objective and descriptive in nature.
The duration of both papers is 120 minutes and they are,
Part I
General Ability and Intelligence: 125 questions( Include areas of GS, GK, Arithmetic, Geography etc.)
Paper II
Essay Writing and Comprehension: 30 questions
The medium of the examination is English only and the Paper II is evaluated only for those candidates having minimum marks in the Paper I.

The paper of General Ability & Intelligence undertaken by the UPSC in order to recruit candidates for the post of Assistant Commandant, in the Central Police Force carries a maximum of 250 marks.
There are a total of 125 questions, each of which are Objective based, and carry four different options, out of which candidates have to choose the best. Each of the question, when answered correctly fetches 2 marks, but when not correct are rewarded with a negative marking of 0.33.
Questions which are left are no aware with any kind of marks, and are treated with zero marks.

I WRITTEN EXAM
PAPER I - GENERAL ABILITY & INTELLIGENCE ( 250 marks )
PAPER II - GENERAL STUDIES, ESSAY & COMPREHENSION ( 200 marks )
II PHYSICAL STANDARDS/ PHYSICAL EFFICIENCY TEST AND MEDICAL STANDARD TEST ( for those who cleared written exam )
III INTERVIEW/PERSONALITY TEST ( those who qualified in medical standard test will be called for interview )
IV FINAL SELECTION/MERIT ( merit list will be drawn on the basis of marks obtained in all rounds )

The selection procedure will be as follows:-
1. The written examination conducted by the UPSC will comprise of 2 papers each of two hours duration.
Paper1 - General ability and intelligence. (250 marks)
questions in this set will be objective type.
Paper2 - essay, precise writing and comprehenshion. (150 marks)
NOTE- U should ensure that the paper 2 they write the answers only in the medium allowed by the Commission.No credit will be given for answers written in a medium other than the one allowed in the paper.
NOTE 2- There will be minimum qualifying marks separately in each paper as many be fixed by the commission. Paper 1 will be evaluated first and evaluation of paper 2 will be done only of those students who obtain the min. qualifying marks in paper 1.

The entrance for CPF comprises of a written Exam, Physical and Medical Test followed by personality test.
Pattern of Written Exam:
1. Paper-I: General Ability and Intelligence of 250 marks of 2 hours.
2. Essay, Precis and Comprehension writing of 150 marks of two hours.
Paper-I consists of objective type question .
Paper-II consists of essay and precis writing
paper-II is only checked if you got the minimum qualification marks for paper-I.
