Of-course you can do the preparation for IAS/IPS examination. If you want to take Science in UPSC Mains exam then you can take.
But I suggest you to take Arts Subjects like History, Political Science, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy etc. If you have good writing skills then you can absolutely Crack the Exam.
After that you have to go for the Question Pattern of Exam so you should download and print Previous Years Question Papers from www.upsc.gov.in

The candidate must be pass in graduation from a recognized university
And your age should be between 21-30
And for the exam their is 3 levels:
Pre exam
Mains exam
Interview
In pre their is compulsory subjects like english and gk
And then you have to choose your optional
And my friend choose your self your optional subjects
As once you have chooses the optional to change the subjects is not possible
Also it is your wish and choose subjects like chemistry
And the subjects that you have knowledge very good
