The UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) conducts many exams for government jobs throughout the year like NDA,CDS,Civil Service Exams,etc but generally people confuse UPSC exam with the Civil Service Exams.
Eligibility For UPSC Examination:
1: you must hold a degree of any of recognized Universities.
Age:you should be age of 21 years and must not more than age of 30 years on 1st August, 2011
Exam Process:There are two stages of the examination.
Stage I:The Preliminary Examination of objective type for the selection of candidates for the Main Examination; and
Stage II:The Main Examination is of Written test and then Personal Interview for the final selection of candidates for the various posts.
The main exam is yet to be held in October or November, 2011.
FEE :
(a) Candidates applying Online are required to pay Rs.50/- in any Branch of SBI by Cash or by Visa or Master Credit or Debit Card.

20 may is the sheduled day for upsc preliums and oct and nov. are scheduled for mains exam,preliums exam include objective typ e question paper pattern for gs and csat paper where as mains exam nature is descriptive type one need to write two papers for two optinal papers each,gs first and gs second ,essay paper ,english language ,opted language paper!
Civil services examination will be held soon on 20/May/2012.
For this year examination notification was already declared and the last date of apply for this examination online was already over. If you have not applied for the examination then please wait for Next recruitment Notification and if you have already filled the please prepared well for the examination and wait for Online Admit Cards. You can download the Admit card soon before 15 days of the examination.
The examination is Conducted in 2 stages : Preliminary Examination and Main Examination.
Preliminary examination is Objective and there are 2 papers in this examination and both are conducted in 2 stages.

The question paper are based upon the general knowledge, current affairs, economics, and history,,
UPSC means Union Public Service Commission which conducts exam for different post. It conducts exam for IAS, Indian Administrative Services and IPS Indian Police Services. IFS Indian Forest Services, IES Engineering Services, SCRA Special Class Railway Apprentice etc.
The eligibility criteria for appearing in UPSC exam is Graduation in any stream from a recognized university.
The Age limit for UPSC exam is 21 to 30 years on 1 August of Exam Year i.e. If you are appearing in 2012 UPSC exam then your age should between 2 August 1982 to 1 August 1991.

There are two types of written examination in UPSC.
UPSC Prelim exam and UPSC Mains exam. You will appear in UPSC Prelim exam first in which Objective type Questions are asked from General English, General Studies etc.
For UPSC Mains you have to choose Subjects. There are total 51 Optional Subjects in which 23 are from main subjects and 28 Language Subjects like Hindi, English, Bengali etc.
