    what is eligibility for railway eng. and what type of questions are asked in it.

    UPSC recruits via Indian Engineering Services qualifying which you can be placed in the railway engg. section based on your marks scored.Other than that there is SSC Combined Graduate Level Examination which also conducts for Ministry of Railways.For both you must pass graduation in respective field.Visit http://www.upsc.gov.in and http://ssc.nic.in for more details.Good Luck!

    EEE, ECE, CIVIL and Mechanical engineering students are eligible
    CSE and IT engineering students are not allowed
    age must be between 21 to 30.
    5 year relaxation to SC/ST candidates and 3 year to OBC candidates in upper age.

    SCRA IS EXAM CONDUCTED BY UPSC FOR RAILWAY RECRUITMENT

    Eligibility
    Age Criteria: Minimum of 17 years & maximum 21 years of age till date of advt

    Minimum Educational Qualification:
    Intermediate or an equivalent Examination of a University or Board approved by the Government of India with Mathematics and at least one of the subjects Physics and Chemistry as subjects of the examination.
    or
    Higher Secondary (12 years) Examination under 10 plus 2 pattern of School Education with Mathematics and at least one of the subjects Physics and Chemistry as subjects of the examination.

    ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR RAILWAY ENGINEERING EXAM:

    EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:

    B.E or B.Tech in Mechanical engineering
    Civil engineering
    Mechanical engineering
    Electronics and communication engineering.


    AGE LIMIT:

    The age limit ranges for the general category candidates is 21 to 30 years
    The age limit ranges for SC/ST category candidates is 21 to 35 years
    The age limit ranges for the OBC category candidates 21 to 33 years

    To join in Indian railways, you can appear for Special Class Railway Apprentice examination(S.C.R.A.) which is conducted by U.P.S.C.

    ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS:-

    CANDIDATE MUST HAVE PASSED INTERMEDIATE EXAM/EQUIVALENT WITH FIRST/SECOND CLASS FROM RECOGNIZED BOARD.
    CANDIDATE MUST HAVE STUDIED MATHEMATICS & AT LEAST ONE SUBJECT FORM PHYSICS/CHEMISTRY IN INTERMEDIATE LEVEL.

    AGE LIMIT IS 17-21 YEARS.
    TO APPEAR IN THE EXAM THE MINIMUM AGE REQUIRED IS 17 YEARS & CANDIDATES MUST NOT ATTAIN 21 YEARS OF AGE.
    UPPER AGE LIMIT IS RELAXED FOR SC/ST , OBC CANDIDATES.
    FOR SC/ST- 5 YEARS OF AGE RELAXATION & FOR O.B.C. CANDIDATES- 3 YEARS OF UPPER AGE RELAXATION IS AVAILABLE.

    CANDIDATE MUST BE PHYSICALLY FIT.
    CANDIDATE MUST BE INDIAN CITIZEN.

    TYPES OF QUESTIONS ASKED :-

    THE QUESTIONS ARE MAINLY ASKED FROM GENERAL ABILITY.
    IN GENERAL ABILITY , THEY WILL ASK YOU ENGLISH LANGUAGE & ANALYTICAL ABILITY TYPE OF QUESTIONS.
    BASICALLY QUESTIONS ARE FROM ENGLISH PASSAGE, CONCLUSION FROM A GIVEN TOPIC, MATCHING PAIRS, ARRANGING SENTENCES, ANTONYMS & SYNONYMS.

    Railway engineer exam conducted by the union public service commission every year once as per vacancies in railway departments.

    eligibility criteria for upsc exams is:
    candidate must have completed graduation or engineering from a recognized university.
    final year appearing candiadates can also apply for the upsc exam.
    age limit for upsc exam is 21 to 30 years.
    candidates belonging to OBC and SC/ST category gets age relaxation of 3 years and 5 years respectively.

    Hi Aspirant,
    Sorry friend UPSC doesn�t conduct any exam for Railway engineering.

    UPSC conducts IES exam for Engineering and SCRA exam for Railway.

    IES stands for Indian Engineering Service.

    SCRA stands for Special Class Railway Apprentice.


    Eligibility criteria for IES exam

    You must be graduate with BE or B. Tech in following stream from recognized university or its equivalent.

    Civil

    Mechanical

    Electrical

    Electronics and Telecommunication

    Your age should be 21 to 30 years

    Age relaxation as per government norms.

    SC/ST + 5 years

    OBC + 3 years

    PH + 10 years

    You must be Indian.


    Eligibility for SCRA exam

    You must be Intermediate qualified.

    Age should be 17 to 21 years

    Age relaxation

    SC/ST + 5 years

    OBC + 3 years

    PH + 10 years

    You must be Indian.
