UPSC board conduct only one examination related to Indian Railways and that is mentioned below :

SCRA - Special Class Railway Apprentices and to apply for this examination, you should have following eligibility criteria :

Must have passed in the first of second devision, the intermediate or an equivalent examination of a university or board approved by the government of India with mathematics and at least one of the subjects physics and chemistry as subjects of the examination

or

Graduates with mathematics and at least one of the subjects Physics and Chemistry as their degree subjects may also apply

or

Must have passed in the first or second devision, the higher secondary (12 years ) examination under 10+2 pattern of school education with mathematics and at least of the subjects Physics and Chemistry as subjects of examination

or

Should have passed the first year examination under the three year degree course of a university or the first examination of the three year diploma course in rural service of the national council for Rural Higher Education

or

Should have passed in the first of second devision the pre-engineering examination of a university recognized by the government

Your age should not be less than 17 years and more than 21 years

Relaxation in upper age as per government guidelines that is 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 3 years in case of defense service personnel disabled in operation during hostilities with any foreign country or any disturbed area and released as a consequence thereof and 5 years in case of Ex-Servicemen category candidates

Examination Pattern for Special Class Railway Apprentices Exam :

Paper I - General Ability Test (English, General Knowledge and Psychological Knowledge) - 200 marks

Paper II - Physical Science (Physics and Chemistry) - 200 marks

Paper III - Elementary Mathematics - 200 marks

Total marks 600 and all questions will be asked in objective type pattern and you will get 2 hours to solve each paper
