yes,it is acceptable because UPSC doesn't restrict any aspirants from opting out of the list of 25 main subjects but their is certain restrriction of combination of subjects like you can't opt. sociology & public administration, chemical engineering along that chemistry etc but your subjects are among NO bar ,so you can comfortably opt. them & go for the examination preparation without wasting anymore time.
good luck.
Dear,
Choosing the optional subject is a crucial decision. As a commerce graduate, I think your optional choice is very good. Because these two subjects are your parent subjects and it is easy to you for preparation. Thank You.
Dear Applicant,
-It is completely accepted to choose COMMERCE AND ACCOUNTANCY and ECONOMICS for the Mains exams of the Civil Services conducted by the UPSC.
-These two subjects not only features among the list of optional subjects but also are Not Among the RESTRICTED combination of subjects.

THE COMBINATION OF COMMERCE AND ACCONTANCY & MANAGEMENT,TAKEN TOGETHER IS THE ONLY ONE RESTRICTED WITH RESPECT TO COMMERCE.
So keep,your preparations up.
