Geologists exam are conducted by the UPSC every year and the eligibility criteria for the UPSC Geologists exam are discussed as below:

1.Educational/Academic qualifications:

>>Master's degree in geology,applied geology or marine geology from a recognized university.

>>Diploma of Associateship in applied geology from Indian School of Mines ,Dhanbad

>>Master's degree in geology in mineral exploration from a recognized university for posts in geological survey of India.

>>Master's degree in hydrogeology for the posts in Central Ground Water Board.

Sorry ,during you last semester that is fourth semester you can apply for the exam and also non geology students eligible for the exam.

2.Age limitations:

>>The age limit is 21-30 years on the 1st January of the year of examination.Relaxations applicable to obc and sc/st respectively.

3.You must be an Indian citizen.

4.Examination pattern:

General English :100 marks

Geology I:200 MARKS

Geology II:200 marks

Geology III:200 marks

Hydrogeology:200 marks

Yes friend you can apply for the UPSC geologist exam in final year of your master degree and non geologist candidates can also apply for the this exam.

This exam is organized by the Union Public Service Commission twice in a year at national level.

This is the stream related to mining and research.

To apply for the Geologist exam you should have master degree in any stream from recognized university or its equivalent.

You must be in age of 21 to 32 years.

Age relaxation as per government norms

SC/ST + 5 years

OBC + 3 years

PH + 10 years

You must have Indian citizenship.
