Eligibility for UPSC Geologist Examination
Master's Degree in Geological Science or Applied Geology or Geo-Exploration or Mineral Exploration or Engineering Geology or Marine Geology or Earth Science and Resource Management or Oceanography and Coastal Areas Study or Petroleum Geosciences or Geochemistry from a recognized university
Master's Degree in respective disciplines means the Post Graduate Degree or Post Graduate Diploma or Minimum 2 years duration after graduation from aforesaid university or institute in the respective discipline whether be it an integrated course or otherwise
Candidates who have appeared for final examination buy not have been informed final result may also apply for this examination
Age limits are different for various posts that is following :
For Geologist Group A and Assistant Geologist Gr I (B) in the Geological Survey of India, Ministry of Mines
Must have attained age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years
For Jr. Hydrogeologist (Scientist B) Group A in Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Water Resources
Age should not be less than 21 years and more than 35 years
For Assistant Hydrogeologist ( Group B) in Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Water Resources
Age should be between 21-30 years
Relaxation in upper age as per government guidelines that is 7 years for government servants if they are employed in above mentioned departments of central government that is relating
3 years upper age relaxation for OBC category candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates
