    Can a general student pass Civil Service Exam? How can I prepare for myself for Civil Services Preliminary exams? Which books are best for same?

    I m a very general Art's student living in a backward place. My question is" A general student can pass civil service exam? How can I prepare myself for civil service preliminary exam and which books are best books for prelimanary exam"?

    Definetly sir, offcourse a general student pass civil service exam.................you will have to prepare according below points for civil service preliminary exams..........


    1. daily read newspapers n magazines n notedown main points from the newspapers.
    2. daily give 2-3 hours to your study except whish are you doing now days.
    3. mostly using patrika darpan for GK n current affairs.
    4. side by side your study you will have to coaching for civil service exam bcoz through self study u can't clear this exam.

    2. Geography - Spectrum
    3. Indian Polity - Constitution of India by Bakshi

    6. Mental Ability - Quantitative Apitude by R.S. Aggarwal
    7. Current Affairs - Some magazines and Newspapers
    i. The Hindu/The Times of India

    iii. Civil Service Chronicle
    iv. Chanakya
    v. Competition WIZARD
    vi. Civil Services Today

    Yes dear of couse any student can pass civil services exam.if he has got determination and temprament.if you work hard make a right schedule for it and follow that then you can easily achieve the success.as far as books upsc has a wide range of subjects in short i can tell you should follow ncert books for pre exam and for mains you can take some standard books which will provide you extra information.best of luck

    You should be schedule time table
    You should read news paper Daily
    You should read magazine
    You should watch news channel daily
    You should read NCERT Books
    you should solved previous question paper

    yes, General Candidate can pass Civil Service Exam.

    First Decide your goal then start preparation of Civil Service Exam.

    If your First Goal is Civil Service then you can give time to Civil Service.

    >> You can utilize your free time if your goal is fixed.

    >> first Collect material for study.

    Collect NCERT books and Start Reading and preparation of Civil Service.

    >> Daily Read newspaper like The Hindu.

    >> Regular Reading Of Magazine like chronicle, Yojana and Kurukshetra.

    >> Daily Watching of TV will also increase your general Knowledge.

    >> NCERT books are best for Preparation
