Re: Can I appear in IAS exam having scored 42.5% in 10th, 59% in 12th and 77.9% in B.Tech (Till 3rd year)?

There is nothing to do with the percentage of the academics in the civil services examination because the simple BA pass can also apply for the civil services examination as there is no requirement for the percentage into the same.
It does not matter whether you are a topper or a failure a person who do well in the civil services examination will get the respected post. So its all useless to get the higher percentages if you fail in the IAS.
One more thing the eligibility criteria plays a crucial role in the civil services examination so you need to fulfill the same as per the rule as follows-

Eligibility criteria for the Civil services examination-
Age should be 21 to 30 years of age.
Graduation in any discipline from a recognised university can apply for the same.
Age relaxation for the civil services examination is as follows-
    SC/ST 5 years.
    OBC 3 years.
    Ex servicemen 5 years.
Disabled defence officer in army during war for commissioned officer 3 years of age relaxation.
    Examination pattern-
CSAT stands foir the civil services aptitude test which is the first stage of the examination. It consist of 2 papers and both general studies of 400 marks total.
MAINS examination is if you qualify the examination CSAT then called for the Mains examination.
There will be 9 papers of 2000 marks .
By qualifying the same candidates are called for the interview.
    Interview consist of 300 marks.

    Thank you.

    Dear friend....

    Surely.............

There is no such percentage criteria for the candidates who wish to take up the I.A.S exams.

So, despite of the percentage of marks scored you can apply for I.A.S.

    The only eligibilities asked are:-

    >>Indian citizen.

    >>21 to 30 yrs age.

    >>Graduate in any discipline.

All the best for your exams,...

    hi
yes my dear you can apply for the IAS examination, but only afte completing your graduation or being into the final year of your graduation.
There is no requirement for any kind of percentage that is required for giving the IAS examination.
The eligibility criteria says that you need to be a graduate in any stream from a recognized indian university and your age should be in between 21-30 years,
A relaxation of 3 and 5 years is given to the obc and the sc/st category respectively.

So you will be surely eligible when you completed your B.tech, Doesn't matter whatever percentage you got in you 10th , 12th or in Graduation . But along with Qualification you have to satisfy other eligibility criteria to appear in exam i.e..

    Age Limit:

    >> Candidate must be 21-30 years

    >> there will be relaxation for OBC (3 years), for SC/ST( 5 years)

    Citizen:

    >> Candidate must be Indian

    No. Of Attempts:

    >> 04- for general
    >> 07 - for OBC
    >> No limit- for Sc/ST
