    Can I appear in UPSC exams having 10 years of gap between 10th and 12th?

    To get knowledge to appear in IAS.
    There is 10 year gap between 10th and 12th. May i appear in UPSC exam and what is new age relaxation?

    Hello

    Yes you can apply for the UPSC exams with a gap of 10 years between 10 and 10+2.There is no problem regarding it,but the only issue that is noticeable is that your age limit.You will have no problem regarding the gap in studies,but age must be checked

    Age limit-21 to 30 years for the general candidate.
    21 to 33 years for the OBC
    21 to 35 years for the SC/ST,ex-service government employee.
    21 to 40 years fir the physically handicapped candidates.

    Dear friend,

    If your age does not exceeds the maximum limit and you have completed your graduation then you can give UPSC exam.

    Here below I am giving you the eligibility criteria to write UPSC exam:-


    >> You must have completed your graduation degree from a recognised university.

    >> Final year students are also eligible for the same.

    >> you must be an Indian to write the exam.

    Age criteria:-

    Age limit for General is 30 yrs.
    There is an age relaxation given for reserved categories.
    SC/ST- 5 yrs
    OBC- 3 yrs
    PH - 10 yrs

    Number of attempts as per categories:-

    General- 4 attempts
    OBC- 7 attempts
    Sc/ST - No limits.

    Here below are the important dates for IAS 2013:-


    1. Civil Services Preliminary Exam

    Date of Notification:- 02.02.2013

    Last Date of Receipt of Applications:- 04.03.2013

    Exam Date:- 19.05.2013 (SUNDAY)

    2. Civil Services Main Exam

    Exam Date:- 08.11.2013 (FRIDAY)

    Duration of Exam:- 21 DAYS

    Hello my dear friend.
    I will tell you about its educational qualifications and age relaxation creteria.
    Age creteria : A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not above the age of 30 years on Ist August.
    The upper age limit prescribed above will be relaxable in the following case :
    > Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe have five year relaxations .
    > Other Backward Class have a relaxation of 3 years .
    > Jammu and Kashmir Domicile candidate have relaxation of 5 years .
    > Defence Services Person have relaxation of 5 years .
    Educational Qualifications
    The candidate must hold a degree of any of university incorporated by an act of Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institute established by an act of parliament or declared to be deemed as a university undre section 3 of the university grant commision act 1956 and posses an equilant qualification.
    > The candidate who have appered at an examination the passing of which would render them educatiional qualified for the commision examination but have not been informed of the result as also the candidate who intend to appear to such a qualification examination will also be eligible for the admission in Preliminary exam .All candidate who are declared qualified by the commision for taking the civil services main examination will be required to produce proof of passing the requisite examination with their application for the main examination .
    > In some cases , the UPSC may treat a candidate who has not any of the foreign qualification as a qualified candidate provided that he has passes examination conducted by other institute , the standard of which in the opinion of the commision justify his admission to the examination .
    > The candidate possessing profesional and technical qualification which are recignised by government as equilent to professional and techinical degree will also be eligible for the admission in Preliminary examination .
    Friend , if you have complete your graduation and you are below the age of 30 years ( General ) the you are definitely eligible for the examination . Then therev is not be any mean of difference between passing 10th class and 12th class.
