Academic Eligibility for UPSC Exams
Restrictions on applying for the examination :
- The candidate must hold a degree of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University Under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification
- Candidates who have appeared or intend to appear for the qualifying examination and are awaiting results are also eligible to appear for the Preliminary Examination. All such candidates who qualify to appear for the Civil Services Main Examination must produce proof of having passed the said examination along with their application for the Main Examination.
- The UPSC may in exceptional cases treat a candidate without the foregoing requisite qualification as an eligible candidate if he / she has passed an examination conducted by other institutions, the standard of which justifies his / her admission in the opinion of the Commission.
- Candidates with professional and technical qualifications recognised by the Government as equivalent to professional and technical degrees.
- Candidates who have passed the final year of MBBS or any Medical Examination but are yet to complete the internship can also appear for the Main Examination. However they must submit along with their Main Examination application, a certificate from the concerned authority of the University / Institution that they have passed the final professional medical examination. At the Interview stage they must then produce a certificate from a competent authority that they have completed (including internship) all the requirements for the award of the Medical Degree.
A candidate who is appointed to the Indian examination and continues to be a member of that service will not be eligible to compete at this examination.In case such a candidate is appointed to the IAS/IFS after the Preliminary Examination of Civil Services Examination, 2012 is over and he/she continues to be a member of that service, he/she shall not be eligible to appear in the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2012 notwithstanding his/her having qualified in the Preliminary Examination, 2012.
Also provided that if such a candidate is appointed to IAS/IFS after the commencement of the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2012 but before the result thereof and continues to be a member of that service, he/she shall not be considered for appointment to any service/post on the basis of the result of this examination viz.Civil Services Examination, 2012.

You can't apply for UPSC exam bcoz you are in pursuing in B.tech so firstly complete your B.Tech then apply for UPSC exams. Mostly UPSC conducts exam only base of graduation level.
So, complete your graduation then apply for UPSC exam.

Yes , you can apply for UPSC examination.You can write a exam and
after crack exam get a government job like IAS ,IPS etc...its a UPSC
under job.Your age limit should be 21 to 30 years and You can write
a UPSC exzmination 4 times in a whole life.You must be Indian citizenship.

Friend, I would like to make aware that candidate in final year of graduation are fully eligible for UPSC Examination. Similarly if you are in the final year of degree level, then you are certainly eligible for UPSC Examination. And if you are in pre-final year of graduation, then you have to wait for atleast one more year to apply for UPSC Examination. As you are engineering graduate, you are ideal and suitable candidate for IES (Indian Engineering Service). For IES, required educational qualification is any engineering degree and required age limit is 21-30 years.

yes final year candidate can appear for upsc exam (civil service exam) held by union public service commission in short upsc.
friend if you satisfy the required eligibility criteria then no one stops you to appear for the entrance exam and if you focus on your goal and do with full dedication,then you will succeed .
even you can apply for other exam conducts by upsc which are
1)IES (indian engineering service)
2)IFS(indian forest service)
3)SCRA (special class railway apprentices)
4)CDS EXAM(Combined defense service)

through non-upsc way,you can appear for

Yes,You can definitely apply for the UPSC Exam.
But when you are selected for the interview.You need to show the documents of certificates and other certificates which you claim during the application form.
So if you are in the final semester.You can apply for the exam.
Or if you just want to know the pattern of the exam you can write exam.No problem with that.
But see that you prepare well and go for the exam .So that you could find your mistake in the exam and sort it out by next exam.
It needs a planned preparation to get through the UPSC exam.

You can appear for UPSC exams being a 4th year student BUT............ during the time of final interview, you will have to present the certificate of completion of graduation.
The criteria for appearing in UPSC Exam is :
1. Nationality : Indian
2. Academic qualification : Graduate in any stream from any recognized university.
3. Age limits : 21-30 (OPEN), 21-33 (OBC), 21-35(sc/st).
You are eligible for the following UPSC exams:
- IES
- IAS
- IPS
- IFS
- CPF
Yes being a 4th year B.Tech you can apply for UPSC CDS /IAS/IPS/IFS/and so on.
Eligibility for IAS & CDS
Any graduate or a final year candidate from a recognized University in any discipline can write UPSC conducted IAS or CDS exams.
So being a 4th(final)year student of B.Tech student you can appear UPSC conducted examination.
