I am 34. Can I start from scratch and succeed in IAS ?
Hi,
I belong to OH category and am 34 years. Its been long since I finished my college and have almost no touch with studies since than. Can I start with scratch and like, give it a try and succeed ? please help and suggest strategy. Thanks.

There is no such category as OH. I assume you meant to write PH i.e. Physically Handicapped.
Age requirements:
>> Minimum age is 21 years on 1st August of the year of examination
>> Maximum age is 30 years on 1st August of the year of examination for General
>>Maximum age is 33 years on 1st August of the year of examination for OBC
>>Maximum age is 35 years on 1st August of the year of examination for SC/ST
>>Maximum age is 40 years on 1st August of the year of examination for PH
Being from PH category, you are fulfilling the age requirements but it will be extremely difficult you to study from scratch and crack this examination after leaving your studies for so many year.

21---33 years on BC/MBC candidates
21---35 years on ST/SC candidates

I am sorry to say but there is no scope for you to get into the civil services, and that too at the age of 34, because the maximum age to give the IAS exam is 30 years.
There is a relaxation of 3 and 5 years is given to the obc and the sc/st category people, which makes the age limit for obc and the sc/st category as 33 and 35 years respectively.
Now even if you belong to the sc/st category then also there wont be much of the scope to crack the IAS in your very first attempt.
