Nice to see your interest in the preparation of exam.Hi Aspirant,
This problem is not only for you even it is the problem of most of the student.
We learn the GS but forget after some times.
So here I would like to say that only learning GS is not adequate, you should also revise the GS periodically.
Then you would not forget the General knowledge data.
Here I will explain you some other ways to learn GS easily.
AS you know GS subject very broad and it has no ends.
So give some time daily for general study of UPSC exam.
You should read news paper on regular basis and marks the important point.
You should also listen the news to know about current affairs.
Study with competitive magazine like pratiyogita Darpan.
Friend you can make audio notes of GS in your voice and listen it when you get free.
These are some good method which is already tested by me.
Obviously you will get benefit from it.
Here I am attaching the previous year question paper for practice and knowledge of GS questions.
Best of Luck
Dear Friend,
You need to read continuously to improve your General Knowledge.
there are many many sources available to improve your General Knowledge like Reading News Paper, Magazines, books, surfing the internet etc.
General Knowledge is mainly of 2 types:
Static and Dynamic.
Statis GK questions means which does not change.
For example:
suppose there is a question like "Where is Red Fort?"
So it obvious that it will be in "Delhi".
it won't change to some other place.
So it is Static GK Question.
Dynamic GK question changes periodically.
like our India's GDP.
which changes every year.
Sports GK question.
etc etc.
You can also read Magazines like Pratiyogita Darpan which is famous among IAS aspirants to improve current affairs knowledge and General Knowledge.
You can refer books like :
General Knowledge 2013 by Manohar Pandey
You need to first understand every aspect of what you are studying.
Don't just mug up the things, try to learn and read again and again to store in the mind permanently.
You have read several times to save the data which you have read.
Best advise to improve general knowledge is to read with correct answers.
Don't read it with options which will confuse you at sometimes.
If you read the questions along with correct answer and repeat it 2/3 times than you will automatically understand it when the question comes in front of you.
Hope it satisfies your query.
for any further queries feel free to write back.
All the best.
Regards.
