Eligibility Criteria to Apply for Economic Services or Statistical Services Exam 2013
Candidate must posses a master's degree in Economics or Business Economics or Applied Economics or Econometrics from a recognized university, final year of the master's degree pursuing candidate may also apply for this exam
Age should not be less than 21 years and more than 32 years and relaxation in upper age as per government guidelines which is 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC category candidates, 10 years for PWDs and 5 years for Ex-Servicemen candidates

Age limit-21 to 30 years for general candidate
and 3 and 5 years upper age relaxation for the OBC and SC/ST candidates respectively.

IES(Indian Economics Services) Exam is conducted by UPSC and it is not similar to Civil Services Exam. For Appearing in IES you must have post graduation. and for Civil Services you need graduation. Civil Services exam is conducted for IAS, IPS, IRS etc posts.
for appearing in IES exam you have to fulfill some other requirement like:
>>A candidate for the Indian Economic Service must have obtained a Postgraduate degree in Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics/ Econometrics
>>your age must be within 21 years to 30 years on 1 August of the year of exam. there is relaxation in upper age limit upto 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
and you must have attained the minimum age on same date and you have not attained the upper age on similar date.
for appearing in Civil Services exam you have to fulfill some other requirement like:
>>you must have completed or appearing in final year of graduation.
