Are low grades students eligible to write UPSC exam? If yes then, can they crack this tough competitive exam? I am willing to work hard, but my environment (family, friends, relatives) are not supporting morally and financially. Kindly guide me.

Yes you can definitely write the UPSC exam even though you have low grades. For UPSC there is no percentage cut-off as such at any level.
But you must be a graduate from any of the recognized universities. Also you must be within the age limit of 21-30 years.
For these exams all you really need is determination and hardwork, which you are willing to put in.
It is a great step that you've taken by choosing this and do not get dejected listening to others, ultimately it is your goal and you must achieve it.
So start your preparation right away.
If you have access to internet that what more do you need, there is a whole world here and you get a lot of books online which will aid you in your studies.
Also newspaper is another great medium to update yourself.
My sincere suggestion is that you start preparing for the prelims even though you face discouragement from your family. When you pass the prelims they will automatically see what you are capable of and help you to achieve your goal.
For this you do not need new books and material, you can buy second hand books, go to a library(another cheap but powerful medium), make study groups with like minded friends, you can also get a lot of information on this site!!
There is a lot you can do if you look in the right way, do not think bout the disappointment that you face. All these make no sense once you pass the exam.
Once you get through everyone will feel that it was all worth it.
So start your preparation ASAP!!

Hi man .. Dont worry ... Its the same situation which many of us are facing these days ...
People do compare children with their grades not with their potential ....
Lower grades doesnt mean that you are a looser ... It simple means that "Its not your cup of tea" .. just it ... Your potential lies in some other thing..
And As far as UPSC is concerned .... you can very well write the exam ... Upsc understands the scenario and it knows the value of an individual potential ...
Inspite of getting harassed by people around .. you can take their criticism to motivate your self .. and proove them that you can do lot better with or without their support ... Stand apart and make the difference ..!!
