Civil Services Examination is conducted by upsc every year for the recruitment of candidates for the post of IAS, IRS, IPS.
Exam Format
The Civil Services Exam is a paper based test and consists of two successive stages:
1.Preliminary Examination � comprising 2 exams � General Studies and CSAT
2.Civil Services Main Examination (Written and Interview)
The basic eligibility criteria for Civil Services Exam are as follows:
Educational Qualification
The candidate must hold any degree in any discipline from any recognized university
Final year degree students are also eligible
Degree obtained by distance education/open university is also eligible if the university is a recognized university
Age limit
General 21-30 yrs
SC/ST 21-35 yrs
PH 21-40 yrs
Number of attempts permitted

UPSC Civil Services Exam(CSE) is conducted every year to make recruitments to 24 services/posts.
UPSC CSE exam is the most prestigious and competitive exam at the All India Level.
CSE is conducted in 3 stages :
1.Prelims/CSAT Exam-is conducted to shorlist candidates for the Mains Exam.
It consists of 2 papers of General studies and total marks for CSAT is 400 marks.
2.Mains exam-is conducted to test the indepth knoweledge and intellegence of the candidates.
It consists of 9 papers and total marks for Mains exam is 2000 marks.At this stage choice of 2
Optional Subjects is to be made and 2 papers of each subject has to be prepared.
3.Interviews-is the test of personality of candidates and total marks is 300 marks.
After securing a good rank in the merit list you will be posted after training.
