Acronym AMO stands for Assistant Medical Officer. you will get the post through CMS exam. CMS exam is conducted by UPSC every year. where CMS stands for Combined Medical Services Exam.

CMS exam is conducted in two phases:

1. Written Exam
2. Personality Test


For CMS exam you should have passed the written and practical parts of the final M.B.B.S. Examination. Final year candidates are also eligible to apply for the exam.

You should not have attained the age of 32 years on 1 January of the year of exam. There is also relaxation in upper age limit upto 3 years for OBC and upto 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
