the UPSC conducts the CDS exam for graduate candidates to join the army , nave and the air-force.
this exam is conducted two times a year and hence known as CDS-1 and CDS-2 exam respectively.
there is no such significant difference in the two CDS exams.
only thing is that the CDS-1 exam is conducted earlier in the year in the month of February/march and the the CDS-2 exam is conducted in September.
other details/aspects of the exam are the same.
the eligibility criterion is same for both the exams.

hi
it is just a myth that there is any difference in CDS I and II.
THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE IN CDS I AND CDS II
The exam is conducted twice in an year by the upsc and this is the only reason that it has been assigned with the numerical value of one and two.
The exam is conducted in the same pattern, and the level of difficulty is also the same only.
Therefore one should not have any doubt about the difference in the I and II paper
