To become Income tax officer, one has to give the SSC Exam, not UPSC Exam.
Below are the eligibility conditions for Income tax officer:
Candidate must possess a valid degree from recognized University.
Candidate must have attained 18 years of age and must not have attained 27 years of age.
Age relaxation is provided as per the government guidelines.
The maximum age limit for OBC Category is 30 years.
The maximum age limit for SC/ST Category is 32 years.
Exam Pattern:
Preliminary exam which consists of general intelligence and general awareness and arithmetic.
Main Examination which consists of general studies, English, Arithmetic, language, communication skill and writing.
Then followed by Personality test.
Pay scale: Rs 6500-Rs 10,500.
