to become an Income tax Officer you have to appear in SSC(Staff Selection Commission) Exam.

Eligibility Criteria For Exam:

1. you must have bachelors degree in any stream.

2. age limit:
candidates must have attained the age of 18 years 1 July of the year of exam and must not have attained the age of 27 years on that date.

the upper age limit will be relaxed upto 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

Yes friend, you can apply for the post of Income tax officer through UPSC Civil Service exam.

UPSC conducts the Civil Service exam for the post of IAS, IPS or IRS.

IRS stands for Indian Revenue Service. If you choose this post then you can serve the country with dignity as Income tax Officer.

You have also chance to choose the top level job of India, which is IAS ( Indian Administrative Service).

Here I explain the important dates related to Civil Service exam in 2013.

UPSC will issue the notification for Civil exam in 2/2/2013. The last date of application is till 4/3/2013.

Prelims exam of Civil will be held in the month of May on 19^th and Mains exam will be held in the month of November on 8^th.

Qualification for Civil exam

You should be only graduate in any stream from recognized university or its equivalent.

Final year candidates can also apply for Civil exam.

No minimum percentage required to apply for Civil exam.

Age should be minimum 21 year and maximum 30 years.

Age relaxation

SC/ST + 5 years

OBC + 3 years

PH + 10 years

You must be Indian.

Or a subject of Bhutan.

SSC stands for STAFF SELECTION COMMISSION.

The SSC exams are also conducted by UPSC.

Under the IRS, you become the income tax officer.

You can also become the Income tax officer to give the Staff selection section exam-combined graduate level test.

For both the civil service and combined graduate level test required qualification graduation from the recognized university.
