i want to know about that i want to be an income tax officer, do i have to give upsc for high position in that or only i have to give ssc?

As the staff selection commission is conducting the exam for the post

You have to give the common graduate level exam for this post

And you have to clear the exam if you want to join the Income Tax department

for Income Tax Officer u have to sit in CGL exam conducted by ssc .

about CGL

there is 2 tier exam

1=tier pre there is 4 section
2=tier mains 2 paper
1 math 200marks
2 english 200 marks

if u want to be higher post then u must in civil services exam to be income tax commissionar .

you must have bachelors of degree in any stream

Age Limit :

you must attain the age of 18 years on 1 July of the year of examination and must not have attained the age of 27 years on that date.
